- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪They scheduled a recall-visit for my wife on August 9. Received a card reminder in July saying to call 7 days in advance to cancel or change. When I called on August 2 there is no answer. The automated answer stated that they are on holidays and will not be listening to message and to call on August 8 when the office opens again. Tried their website and there is no way to send cancellation request. When I called on August 8 the office staff said that I did not call more than 7 days ahead and there will be a $100 charge on her account due to late cancellation. They also said that I should have left a message and they would have heard it with the time stamp (but they chose not to include that on the answering machine message as that would have made it too long). I explained that they have NOT provided the patient with clear instructions for cancellation and that even if I have left a message they would still not know about it until August 8 and would not made a difference. The admin staff explained that since this is a 2 hour appointment and their hygienist will not be able to fill the appointment in short notice. I do not agree that we should be penalized for them being on vacation and not providing clear instructions for cancellation/changes during the time when the office is closed. The office manager came on line and still stuck to their policy. On their website they stated: "Our commitment is to provide you with periodontal services with honesty, integrity, respect and care to the best of our ability while keeping your needs uppermost in our minds." It appears they care about their revenue more than respecting their patients' need when they are on holidays. Unfortunately these days being a patient is just being treated as a revenue source!
